Gore is one of the leading proponents of Eco-Fascism. Beware of those who say there is no debate. There most certainly is a debate and much of the global warming hype is turning out to be total bullshit. Of course the lefties see this as yet another opprtunity to put prosperous capitalism out of business and somehow make their own pathetic, worthless lives of value. Shame, shame.

Is there a cynical element in Al Gore climate change stance? Probably. Is there a political balloon to be taken advantage of? Definitely.

But I still welcome Al Gore (and anyone else by that matter) for putting the issue on the public and political agenda ... we have been talking of protecting the environment for decades but never till today a political figure the size of Al Gore has made such stance ... maybe cynical, maybe opportunistic but he has taken it.

No serious person can debate global warming. The only things left on the planet that don't know about it crawl about on their bellies and have forked tongues.

This presentation was the prologue for the incredible movie, "An Inconvenient Truth," playing widely across America in theatres now. If you can't afford the time of money to see the production in the movies, at least watch this.

Al Gore believes that the only hope for a future of civilization is every man, woman and child becoming more "green" right now--before it's too late.

Either you are with the Earth, or you are against it and with the oil conglomerates that want you to stay stupid. Get with the program or get out of the way--you will be trampled by intelligent life.

The debate is over. Mr. Gore isn't selling some political snake oil. He presents the information in an understandable way and allows each person to contribute to the total knowledge on the subject.

The last post said 99% of scientist believe in global warming and stated that we should do our research. I did do my research. The number of scientist who subscribe to the theory of catastophic global warming is no where near 99%, its more like less than 10%. This 10 % are the ones who are doing the research (read free lunch on the government tit. No Global warming boogie man, no more free lunch). The other 90% understand that the planet goes through warming and cooling stages that we have no effect upon-good or bad. These guys have to have some kind of boogie man to scare the S--- of of people in order to garner the "research" funds that are thier living. I remember back in the 70's, it was global cooling that we were supposed to be afraid of, a new ice age and all. Al Gore can't seriously believe the crap he spouts. If he really does, hes an idiot. What Al sees in the global warming issue is an avenue to power. "Hey everybody, look at me. I'm a whiny, sore loser, but you should all listen to ME before it's too late." Gimme a break. Somebody give Al a valium and a vacation to Siberia.

I have a question for those who still don't believe in global warming. Do you believe smoking causes cancer? I mean, seriously. I can understand if you haven't read up on the subject, but there's about 99% of all scientists in agreement on global warming today, it's just sort of frustrating to hear people name calling and acting like this is some sort of hoax. There's actually U.S. Senators in office that think global warming is "the biggest hoax known to man." Scary stuff. If you don't think global warming is real, I suggest you do some research and by research I don't mean read talking points on websites funded by oil companies. There's a reason oil companies put out this misleading information and graphs.

I guess Logic isn't a requirement to be a member of the GOP...

Ozzy, your falacious attack of Gumby's character shows poor quality in your own reasoning skills. In addition, to dismiss an issue of global proportions (that has affected our entire existence for more than half a century) with a single [un-cited] German reference makes your argument look like even more of a joke (since stars supposedly "burn out" with time, not burn brighter and hotter). And, considering the degree of influence (or I should say, with this administration, interest) the U.S. has on saving the environment, it's highly unlikely that an administration could plant enough trees in less than four years to surpass the amount of vegetation of the early twentieth century; a time period when the Everglades covered more than 70% of Florida and 50% of Georgia, and other similar dense areas of forest were more intact; a time that had not yet fully experienced the after-effects of post-colonial deforestation, air-polluting byproducts of fossil fuel combustion, and the ravages of atomic warfare. Besides, planting trees wouldn't be sufficient for a "clean-up crew" to break apart O3, as long as the president and his cabinet continued to neglect the search for alternate energy sources (and the air kept being contaminated by more and bigger SUVs and such).

As for Hunter1: I'm not sure what Bush-supporters look for in a leader (I could care less), but I expect a president or representative or any public-interest voice to have extensive knowledge in their subject of discussion, ESPECIALLY science. It's who we are, man! When you log on to post your reviews, that's (computer) science. When car fumes mix with the oxygen and nitrogen molecules in the upper atmosphere to form a global greenhouse and nitrogenous acid rain, that's science. When you go to the city and breath smog-polluted air and get asthma or emphysema years later, that's science!

Great speech. Wish he would have been president, like he should have been... If only people could set aside their personal/political views and just listen to a speaker in a less narrow-minded way...

P.S. Two terms you should consider adding to your vocabulary, Ozzy and Hunter1:
(1) Objectivity;
(2) Critical Thinking

Al Gore gives an excellent speech on global warming. And now even the Pentagon, yes that's right the Pentagon, has admitted that global warming is a real threat and will have catastrophic consequences on our economy and the environment which are more closely linked than many people are willing to admit. So wake up reviewers this is not a comedy and some obscure report from Germany is not going to change the fact that we are the cause and the solution.

Gore should give up his pseudo-science act and get into comedy.

I reject "ozzie",s review. This video lectures is good to start a person thinking. Here is where the coomputer shines. We can pause or rewind and read or think and then resume.

...As is anyone that still believes in global warming. I suppose you haven't heard the latest about the report from Germany indicating that the Sun is actually burning brighter and hotter than any other time in history? Do you know there are more trees in the US now than in the early 1900s due to forest replantation? Let me guess, you're probably a member of PETA, who still wears leather shoes, belts, etc.....

This presentation by Al Gore on Jan. 14, 2004. provides an excellent, and very interesting, review of the global warming process. It is presented as a lecture loaded with interesting animations and slides. It is extremely well done and a must see for anyone who lives on earth. I am sure that once you have had a chance to see it you will have a much clearer understanding of the problems we are facing. I would recommend it for children and adults.
